COMAC C919 Supplied by Ford

Another Step to China Aerospace

Ford Aerospace Ltd have successful registered its range of Easipeel and Plasipeel material onto the Qualified Product List (QPL) for COMAC C919 at end of 2015.

Ford Aerospace celebrate as China unveils the first large passenger aircraft C919 on 2nd November 2015 in Shanghai. It is great news to Ford, especially to Ford Sales & Marketing Team, having followed the C919 programme for 3 years. Ford would like to acknowledge their Chinese agents’ valuable support and hard work assisting with the COMAC team approving Ford brand peelable laminated material “easipeel” & “plasipeel” for the China COMAC QPL. World famous laboratory Bureau Veritas and EXOVA are both key partners on the compression test, water immersion test and peel strength test along with FORD in-house laboratory.  Ford is the only one UK Company registered into the supplier list to COMAC to provide the peelable laminated material and we hope that Ford will be able to support COMAC to achieve the ambitious build programme.

Ford believes the C919 will bring a challenge to the market dominance of Airbus and Boeing. So far, a total of 518 aircraft have been ordered by 21 customers both home and abroad and there is projected demand of around 2,000 of the new model over the next 20 years.  Chris Ford (MD of Ford Aerospace Ltd) “This great news is a landmark for FORD in the China Aerospace Market and we are also looking forward to working with COMAC on the following new models after C919 as the first step“, he added “Ford has near 35 years experienced in aerospace industry but have been in operation since 1910; we are fully confident and excited to offer our aerospace engineering service to COMAC and other key players in China aerospace industry”
