Ford Engineering Academy New Partnership with New College Durham

Published: 3rd March 2019

Pioneered by Geoff Ford MBE, chairman of Ford Engineering, the first academy was set up in 2013 to give young people the skills, knowledge and experience they need to start a successful engineering career and find an apprenticeship.

Ford Engineering are delighted to welcome our new partners New College Durham in tackling the skills shortage the engineering sector is entering. As well as helping young students enter the world of work feeling confident and motivated.

Geoff Ford MBE, chairman at Ford Engineering said: ā€œIā€™m a firm advocate of apprenticeships. The engineering and manufacturing industries need an influx of new skills, which is why we teamed up with New College Durham to run the academy ā€“ a vital stepping stone to progress onto an apprenticeship.”

“Schemes like this will help to protect the future of the industry, boost the economy and prepare more young people for the world of work.ā€
